A scouting clubhouse in the woods, garlands on the ceiling, a map of the world on the wall, a music system in one corner, a beer tap in the other corner and right next to it a CRF250L. Now add friends and family and you have our perfect party.
In the beginning of October we held our Goodbye Party. It was a great night, on which we toasted with everyone we love on life and the adventure that awaits.
Prior to the party, we had dinner with Peter’s parents, my dad, our brothers(in-law) and sisters(in-law). My dad surprised us with a speech and a bottle of champagne. The ‘plop’ was fantastically captured.
This was completed with another really cool present. They had arranged that all the guests could leave a video message for us and could write a message of a map of the world. The route we took will be drawn on the map during our trip.
It was a really great and busy night, with a lot of hugs, sweet words, wishes and kisses. We went home with happy coins, a happy Buddha, four leave clovers, pocket money, Dutch cheese and bubbly. 
Another very special gift was the piece of Cambodian rainforest that was donated. Af of now we ride co2-neutral. One less thing to worry about!
A few days after the party we watched all the video-messages. For over one hour we both laughed and cried (at the same time) about all the sweet words, the prayers for a safe return, tips, dances and songs. I expect that we will watch those videos very often during the trip.

Jammer dat we niet bij het feestje konden zijn, feestjes zijn altijd goed! 😉
En, en, en, wanneer gaan jullie weg? Gaan jullie het presteren om nog later weg te gaan als wij…!? 😉 Hopelijk is de winter niet vroeg dit jaar, net al dat het bij ons was!
Enne, jullie kunnen ons nog bijhalen hier in Afrika, want we zitten nog steeds in Malawi… Nog een paar dagen (hmm, ok, 2 weken) en dan zijn we ‘klaar’ in Malawi en gaan we naar Zambia en richting Zuid-Afrika.
We zijn benieuwd wanneer we het bericht ‘we zijn verschijnen!

Ps. We zijn net terug van een 4-daagse hike (met topbeklimming) op Mt. Mulanje en dat is ook erg de moeite waard! (en een stuk goedkoper als bijv. Mt. Kilimanjaro of Mt. Kenia)
