Drie keer 'water'After the great five-day safari through Ethosha, we take our bikes from under the sail at the lodge just outside the park. They are there exactly as we had left them and start without problems. Great! We pitch our tents on the campsite of the lodge and sink into a chair while we have a look at the pictures of Etosha with a smile on our faces. We use the rest of the afternoon for the administration and the laundry and then bend over the map to plan the remainder of the trip. There are three places we would like to visit with Dick: the Chobe River in Botswana, Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and the Okavango Delta, again in Botswana. Three times to the water! Het wilde zuidenAfter a nice time in Zambia, we ride on and cross the border to Zimbabwe today at the Victoria Falls. After completing the formalities on the Zambian side we drive over the old railway bridge across the gorge to the neighboring country. From the bridge we catch just a glimpse of the spectacular waterfalls before the spray covers our sunglasses. The paperwork in Zimbabwe takes a lot longer, but after an hour we have all the stamps we need. We can hit the road. Lees meer (Read more)

The smoke that thunders

De rook die dondertThey are not the highest in the world, nor the longest, but they are the largest in the world: the Victoria Falls. On the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, the Zambezi river falls with thunderous force over a width of more than 1700 meter. The highest point is 128 meters. The falls are recognized as World Heritage by UNESCO and were named by CNN as one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Since the first tourists visited the falls in 1900 it has become one of the most visited highlights of Africa. A place that we obviously cannot pass without stopping. Lees meer (Read more)
